The Duke Of Edinburgh's Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a voluntary, non-competitive programme of activities for anyone aged 13-24. Taking part in the DofE Award gives young people the opportunity to experience new activities or develop existing skills. There are three progressive levels of programmes which when successfully completed lead to a Bronze, Silver and Gold Award.
Young people can create their own DofE programme by choosing a skills, volunteering and physical activity, going on an expedition and, for their Gold only, taking part in a residential activity. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is the world’s leading youth achievement award for young people. The DofE Award is highly valued both amongst education establishments and employers. In a recent study conducted with some of the largest UK employers representing 12% of UK employees, DofE was the number one activity looked for in potential employees.
